The Difference between Standard UPS and Long-term UPS

2018-10-31

1.Standard UPS

Standard UPS power: built-in battery pack. StandardUPS is often connected to small capacity load devices such as PC or office computers. Battery mode full load running time is usually about 5 minutes, so that users have time to save data when power is off.

Standard UPS power usually do not have an external battery connection port, Therefore, if the customer needs more than 5 minutes of backup time, you need to consult the supplier and request a reasonable model. At the same time, customers can't add external battery packs and replace batteries to avoid serious consequences such as electric shock.

2. Long-term UPS

The long-term UPS power refers to the machine lthat the UPS itself doesn`t have a battery pack and needs to be configured with additional batteries. Since the external battery pack is used to extend the power supply time, the battery load working time is more flexible and can be calculated according to the actual load demand of the customer. Configure the appropriate battery pack to meet your needs.

In addition, when using a long-term UPS power, be sure to select a battery with a guaranteed quality and pay attention to the regular maintenance of the battery. Different models, batteries from different manufacturers cannot be connected in parallel.

When linking UPS and battery, the following points need attention:

1. The air switch between the battery andthe UPS must be kept disconnected;

2.The polarity ofthe voltage must be correct when the battery is connected.

3. When connecting the battery, remove the metal objects in advance to prevent short circuit.
